Social Research, Public Policy, and Racial Justice: The Dalmas Taylor Seminar

December 4th, 2009
The Dalmas Taylor Seminar
10:00am – 5:30pm
Graduate Center, CUNY, Rm 6304.01

The Dalmas Taylor Seminar will gather scholars, advocates, and applicants to the Dalmas Taylor Fellowship from across the country, including Dr. James Jones, Dr. A.J. Franklin, and Dr. Kay Deaux.
Introductory presentations on the impetus of policy-relevant research and the work of Dalmas Taylor will be followed by a series of roundtable and panel discussions, as well as presentations. Throughout the day we will engage the relationship between public policy and research about education, physical and mental health, criminal justice, and culture and identity. The seminar will be driven by a focus on strategizing effective research and building collaborations – from seeking funding to conducting research, and meeting with policy makers.
The Dalmas Taylor Seminar is supported by the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) and the generous contributions from our speakers.

If you have questions about the seminar contact Kendra Brewster.
