York College

Science @ Brooklyn College

Brooklyn College has growing signature programs in Applied Biomedicine and Drug Design; Photonics; Urban Environmental Science; and Neuroscience. Scientists using advanced computational methods also enrich collaborations among these areas. Continual infrastructure improvements provide excellent resources for productive research in all the target areas. The campus’ strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research (see descriptions below) fosters a collaborative environment within Brooklyn College, across CUNY, and on national and international levels. Our programs encourage students to work outside traditional disciplinary boundaries to prepare for careers in newly emerging areas of the sciences. In addition, our doctoral programs support students with excellent mentoring and workshops that develop competencies in scientific communication, computation, grant writing, and pedagogy to position them for highly competitive post doctoral positions and jobs in academic, industry, and governmental settings.
