Students will learn to apply the scientific method to speech, language, and hearing research, using the students' research areas as examples. Students will formulate a research question, do a literature review, on the basis of which they will choose a research design and appropriate statistics. Students are required to write a research proposal; extensive feedback on each section (Introduction, Methods, Proposed Analysis) will be given. The final examination will include a final draft of the proposal and an oral presentation of the design.
