In this course we will examine the role of central processes
(memory, attention, executive function, and speech perception) in
typical language acquisition and in atypical development (e.g.,
Specific Language Impairment, Autism, Williams Syndrome, Central
Auditory Processing Disorders). The discussion will focus on various
theoretical perspectives, the neurobiology of these central
processes, and the empirical evidence of deficits in central
processes for these children.
