We will study language comprehension and production in populations with neurodevelopmental disorders from a cognitive perspective. Readings and seminar discussions will focus on the interaction among executive functions, memory, and different language processes in children with attention deficit disorder, primary language impairment, dyslexia, autism, and fragile X syndrome. Theoretical and applied research papers will be critically analyzed to describe similarities and differences in performance pattern across these populations. Students will lead class discussions and prepare a portfolio by the end of the semester.
