If your child is
6 - 12 years-old we invite you to
participate..

We are seeking children 6 to 12 years-old, with and without academic problems, to participate in free speech-language testing.

• Participants receive $15 per hour.
• Spoken English must be the primary language used at home.
• Results of speech, language, and hearing tests will be available to you.
• Weekday, evening, and weekend appointment times are available.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

Your child will participate in 2 sessions, each lasting approximately 2 hours.

In the first session, we will conduct a hearing screening and a speech/language evaluation using standardized language tests.

In the next session, your child will be asked to listen to information and look at pictures presented on a computer. Your child will then be asked to make a judgment about what he/she heard or saw by pressing a button.

Our studies have been approved by the Institutional Review Board of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York

Se solicitan participantes que hablen el español como primer idioma para participar en un estudio de percepción de vocales

Este experimento tomara aproximadamente dos horas.
Será recompensado $10/hra por su participación.

Solicitamos personas quienes hablen el español como primer idioma para que participen en un estudio investigando la percepción de vocales americanas.

Será conducido en The Graduate Center - Universidad de la Cuidad de Nueva York (CUNY) localizado en el 365 de la 5ta avenida, cuarto numero 7304, piso 7, Nueva York, NY 10016 (5ta avenida, entre las calles 34 y 35).

Les pagáremos $10/hra por su participación.
El experimento tomara aproximadamente dos horas y media.
Los requisitos para los participantes son:
Habilidad de oír normal

En el estudio, oyera palabras sin sentido a través de audífonos, por ejemplo “apa”, “ipa”, “upa”, y pediremos que escoja el par de palabras que empiecen con la misma vocal.
Estas palabras serán presentada entre ruido parecido a varias conversaciones en una fiesta que ocultara la señal de interés. Inclusivamente, les haremos una evaluación para examinar su nivel de ingles utilizando un programa telefónico.

MONOLINGUAL ENGLISH SPEAKERS AGED 21-40
FOR ERP STUDY ON LANGUAGE PROCESSING

If you are between 21 and 40 years of age, are fluent only in English, and are willing to participate in an electrophysiology study (i.e. wear a net of damp sponges on your head while you listen to recordings and watch videos for about 45 minutes), you can participate in our study!
