Part of my research in urban high schools has involved the use of high school students as peer teachers for middle schoolers. Here a high school student teaches a laboratory on chromatography. Our present research has identified the use of peer tutors as a critical way to address some of the challenges of enacting successful science curricula in urban high schools.
