Ethel Velez is President of the Tenants' Association
of the James Weldon Johnson Houses (173 East 112th St.) This association
is an organization with the goals of education and economic development
for its members - the residents of the James Weldon Johnson Houses. The
Tenants' Association deals with the physical problems of the apartments
in the Johnson Houses, sponsors programs for children, adults and senior
citizens and strives to make the voices and needs of Johnson Houses residents
heard and understood by bureaucratic structures and to politicians.

Psychology at the City University of New York Graduate Center.
